The overall objective of the programme was to provide support to businesses in the Northern reaches of Mpumalanga. This support consisted of providing access for beneficiaries to the 3 main pillars of Datacomb’s interventions: Access to Markets: Helping the business identify and gain recognition in potentially lucrative markets. Access to Technical Training/Skills Development: Datacomb provided, or facilitates access to, technical training that was crucial to beneficiary growth and sustainability. Workplace experience for beneficiaries had also been identified as a major goal for the duration of the programme. Access to Mentorship: Datacomb did provide business guidance and advisory to all beneficiaries for the duration of the programme

UJ required the following:
  • Promotion of more competitive small businesses
  • Providing business skills and development training
  • Providing mentoring and coaching to the selected SMME’s so as to identify opportunities in the market
  • Introducing the selected SMME’s to market access strategies tailored for the businesses
